Biostatistics for Omics Data
Prof. Dr. Simon Anders
Project Leader
Dr. Simon Anders studied physics at TU München, obtained his PhD in theoretical physics (quantum information science) in Innsbruck and then switched to bioinformatics. At EBI Hinxton and EMBL Heidelberg, he developed several tools (e.g., DESeq) that have become highly cited standard methods in omics data analysis. After two years at Helsinki University, he joined Heidelberg University’s ZMBH in 2017. Since 2020, he is junior professor at BioQuant, heading the Center’s Klaus Tschira Foundation-funded LIBIS group.
