Physics of Complex Biosystems
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schwarz
Project Leader
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schwarz earned his PhD in theoretical physics of soft matter. During his Postdoc at the Weizmann Institute (Israel) from 1998-2000, he started to work on modelling cell adhesion, which was also the subject of his Emmy Noether junior research group, which moved into the BioQuant in 2007. In 2008, he was appointed professor for theoretical biophysics at Karlsruhe, and in 2009 professor of theoretical physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITP) of Heidelberg University. His group is shared between BioQuant and ITP.
