Dr. Petr Chlanda
Group Leader
Petr Chlanda studied Biochemistry at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He obtained his PhD at Heidelberg University where he studied the assembly of poxviruses using EM methods. During his post-docs at EMBL Heidelberg and the NIH in Bethesda, he worked on structural analysis of influenza A virus membrane fusion and assembly. Since 2017, he has been a Chica and Heinz Schaller group leader at the Department of Infectious Diseases – Virology at Heidelberg University and at BioQuant. He is one of the founding members of the Heidelberg University Cryo-EM Network (HDcryoNet).
